点评:This old and historic ship is currently a shadow of its former self but thanks to the dedication and hard work a wonderful team of volunteers and supporters it has been saved from being scrapped. They are working hard to raise the money for the restoration that is already well underway. Nearly all of the work and labour have been carried out by the volunteers themselves. Their enthusiasm is palpable. We loved our visit. There is much to see and learn. Other clippers and sailing ships that have been saved looked like the City of Adelaide before inspired enthusiasts got their hands on them. The same is happening in Port Adelaide.
We saw this clipper in worse condition when it languished in a field in Ayrshire at the Scottish Maritime Museum after it had sunk at its moorings on the Clyde, awaiting the scrappers, and it looks far better now.
Well worth a trip to Port Adelaide which itself is historic and architecturally interesting.
