点评:My wife and I visited Duwisib Castle in the late 2000's. That day is was quite a busy site with a working coffee shop and facilities for people to sleep over in the castle.
Fast forward 20 years, taking our kids to see the castle on our way to Sossuvlei. We were the only visitors on the day (despite it being the busy school holidays), coffee shop closed down, accommodation closed up, pool empty, gardens run-down, not even a working toilet in the castle.
Given that this site is only a slight detour and ideal lunch stop for anyone travelling from the south to the hugely busy Sossusvlei the potential of this site is obvious but NWR has dropped the ball badly on this one. Its not even as if there are alternative tourist stops in wider the area.
Still worth a quick stop-over if you are on-route and interested in the history of the German occupation of Namibia (the history of the castle is fascinating), but keep the expectations low on the on-site facilities.
