Archie not playing ball!

点评：This experience was a birthday gift, my son and I travelled from Essex and it was so worth it. We were warmly greeted by Mitch, who explained that Archie the Harris Hawk was weighing in heavier so therefore must have sneaked a midnight snack and therefore warned us that he may not be hungry and may not respond to us. We were given safety instructions and a leather glove and advised what stance to take when attempting to feed Archie. Archie did not play ball but if anything that enhanced our experience. We went for a lovely walk along the farmers’ field track with Archie loose, we heard him via the bells on the Jessie restraints. We tried to tempt Archie with chicks. Mitch was very knowledgeable and told us so much information. Archie did respond to a certain extent but did not land on our arms, but flew off but this did not deter from our overall enjoyment of the day. Mitch was incredibly patient with Archie (and us) and really persevered. Mitch repeatedly apologised for Archie’s lack of cooperation, but we understood completely as that’s the unpredictable charm of wildlife. Mitch took photos via his phone and transferred them to us later. I would not hesitate to recommend this experience, the dedicated team here are exceptional! Will definitely be back.
