点评：Having hired Quads and buggies from various companies in the past on Cyprus, I must say that Golden Rides have come out on top.
As a solo rider, I was not interested in a guided tour as I know my way around the area, and Google Maps is always to hand. I went for a 2-seater buggy. The booking in process was quick and efficient and took just 10 minutes. I paid the hire charge and deposit on my prepaid debit card without any issues.
I was shown to my buggy, which was nearly new, just over 2000 kms on the clock, and it was in pristine condition. I was shown the basic controls and the 4-wheel drive system operation, and then I was on my way.
Unfortunately, I was unable to go to the Akamas peninsula as planned, due to company policy, but I spent an enjoyable 6.5 hours touring around the area from Coral Bay to Neo Chorio, over to Agia Marina, then back across the mountains, going through a few of the picturesque villages dotted throughout the region.
As the weather the previous day had been quite wet, some of the off road tracks I took were quite muddy and the buggy was liturally coverd in thick mud, even the passenger seat but when I returned the buggy I jokingly appoligised about the state of the buggy to which the chap at Golden Rides replied "not a problem, I've seen worse."
Returning the buggy was a simple, quick check for damage, had a nice chat with the chap about where I had been, as he had been guessing where I would go next. Yes, all their vehicles have trackers. My deposit was returned via a refund to my card without issue.
All in all, a brilliant day out with countless photo opportunities and a chance to meet the people of this beautiful island.
Golden Rides gets a solid 10/10 for customer service, cost (120 euro hire charge, 500 euro returnable deposit for the 2 seater 650cc buggy), and quality of the equipment.
