Such a disappointment after The Mount
Ventfort Hall Mansion and Gilded Age Museum的点评
点评：I paid $20 to come to a poorly tended lawn, a home undergoing construction, cheesy tchotchke decor I'd expect in a Dollar store - not a restored guilded age cottage - and a grumpy docent who wouldn't offer a tour after a few of us had been directed to the library to wait. After having a greater-than-expected experience at The Mount, this hall and supposed Gilded Age Museum was very disappointing.
I did appreciate the efforts to restore the building, and gather that Ventfort Hall is making a name for itself as a haunted space. The reconstruction of Sarah Morgan's bedroom and the ladies' salon inspired the imagination, as well as details on the long hall to the billiards room. Perhaps my hopes were too high after having explored other cottages in the area, but I left disappointed less than 40 minutes after arriving.
Not worth the price, though I hope a change in management style will help make it memorable. They would do well to partner with other cottages and promote a tour with Ventfort Hall being viewed before The Mount or other area cottages.
