Eastcote House Gardens的点评
点评：Eastcote House Gardens are now a valued green space with many reminders of its previous life as the gardens of a manor house.
The walled garden remains intact, and unusually is planted rather than grassed over. The bricks are of all different ages, some even medieval and has been repaired many times, making it difficult to date. In March, it is full of colour with daffodils, primroses, grape hyacinths and the first blossom on the fruit trees. In one corner, the dovecote is a focal point. The walled garden is locked overnight, in March at 5pm. The dovecote is only open on special events.
Behind the walled garden is an orchard which is now 12 years old, and the trees have settled in and matured. The first pear blossom is just coming out. Next to the cafe is a rock garden and some more formal flower beds. It also has the most striking feature in March, a large, flowering cherry. The rest of the garden is open throughout the day with many fine trees and large lawns. In March the lawns have clumps of daffodils. The river Pinn flows through the garden, with a bridge over to a meadow beyond.
There are toilets only when the cafe is open - until 3pm. There is limited parking. There is a bus stop for the 282 and H13 outside the church on Field End Road. It takes about an hour to look around, and if you are travelling from further away, it could be combined with a longer walk along the Celandine trail or in Ruislip woods.
