This stops you right in your tracks.
Two lakes easily accessible by car and one of them with a sleeper boardwalk around it.
Blink and you will miss the turn off on the road to the Connor Pass.
Even if you don’t miss the turn, you will question yourself whether you took the right turn in the first place.
It’s a narrow road which gets even narrower as you go along, with grass growing in the middle of it.
About 4kms up this road and there it is(you will stop beforehand to admire the Rocky Mountain cliff face).
There’s a car park right at the start, but unless you feel like a good brisk walk of about 2km, you are better off driving up the well laid road.
Lough Slat is the first stop with steep cliffs and a little waterfall, the Lough Caum, further up .
This is where the boardwalk is, and it’s a beautiful walk around the Lough , vantage points to take pictures .
The walk around the Lough is about 1.5kms and it’s not that difficult.
Well worth it if you want to forget where you are in the world as it is hidden in a valley.
