DFDS Seaways - Ferry Crossings Newhaven-Dieppe的点评
点评：So far I have had many positive experiences as a foot passenger on the Newhaven to Dieppe/Dieppe to Newhaven route particularly getting into Newhaven as foot passengers exit the ship before the cars. The train station (Newhaven town) is only a 5 mn walk away. On many occasions was I able to exit the ship, go through customs and be at the station in 15mns for a train to London Victoria via Lewis.
I can't fault DFDS Newhaven/Dieppe-Dieppe/Newhaven at all. The staff is always very nice. The only downside is travelling at night time. It can get really noisy if it is during peak season. It is possible to book a cabin (cheaper to book online at the same time as your crossing) but they have a limited number so they get snapped up quickly.
Some reviewers have left negative comments. The crossing takes 4 or 5 hours. This is clearly mentioned on the website.
There is a shuttle between the terminal at Dieppe and the train station and back. Check the timetable on the ferry or ask at reception onboard. It costs 3€ pp. I believe they only take cash. It is half the price for children.
There are some buses that run from the town centre (about 20 mns walk from the terminal if you travel light). They are free on SATURDAYS. Otherwise the ticket costs 1€30 (may be cash only). There is also a free shuttle from the town centre to the train station. The nearest stop would be Pont d'Angon.
It takes 35mns on foot to get to Dieppe train station from the terminal if you travel light. The walk along the port from the terminal to the town centre is safe. There is a pavement on almost all of that path.
Dieppe is a lovely town with nice cafés and shops.
To travel as a foot passenger from Dover to Calais there are only 2 sailings a day offered by another company (p&o). DFDS Dover to Calais do not offer that option.
