Best Thing to Do in Rudesheim

点评：One of the best things to do in Rudesheim is the ride the cable car to the top of the gorge overlooking the Rhine for incredible views of the river, the town and the vineyards. We visited Rudesheim as a part of a Viking river cruise. We arrive late in the afternoon but with enough time to ride the cable car to the top. It is quite a hike from the dock on the east end of the town to the cable car on the east end. However, the walk along the riverfront is a nice distraction.
We arrive to the town station with no line and going directly onto the cable car. You do have to buy a ticket, but the cost was nominal and well worth the ride and views. Once in the car you begin to climb the gorge with great views of the river and the vast vineyards below. This is the beautiful wine growing part of the Rhine where the banks are covered in vineyards which are really great to see in their rows from above.
Once at the top there are incredible views of the gorge and the German Unification monument. Then you return to the upper station for a ride back to the town. For me the views coming back were even better. Again, this a great attraction that our family greatly enjoyed. I highly recommend you do this while you stay in Rudesheim.
