Must visit in Sharjah - beautiful building and very interesting historical collection

点评：This was a really interesting place to visit. It's close to the 'Heart of Sharjah' - which has many historical buildings and also close to the Sharjah wall. The fort is a rebuild of the original but it's been faithfully restored and well maintained. It has a variety of rooms to head into - all behind beautiful solid wooden doors, each room dedicated to a different topic linked to the history of Sharjah, the fort, and the Qassimi family. There are many photos and articles - with descriptions in English and Arabic. All rooms are air conditioned. There are two levels and a small lift to take you to the second floor if you need it. I found it incredibly interesting, very peaceful and was grateful that for the most part, they used traditional displays rather than these modern interactive ones that have sadly taken over many of the traditional buildings in the wider region. The staff were very welcoming and gave us the traditional coffee and dates after our visit. Highly recommend visiting.
