点评:We visited today (Friday 11th July) and we were most disappointed to have travelled from Nottingham to find the trains were not running which was our main reason for visiting.
The leaflet my friend gave me did not clearly state the trains don’t run every day or that it was ‘off peak’ or whatever terminology the man in the ticket booth described it as. (N.B the website isn’t any clearer either).
My 3 year old enjoyed looking at the trains inside the main building but isn’t a soft play kind of child so that’s all we ended up doing whilst we were there as the swings weren’t operating and nothing else seemed to be open.
I had a coffee and cake from the cafe/bar with a lukewarm welcome.
We didn’t bother walking over to the Fairground museum as I assume it was closed too.
We decided to travel north and go to our favourite little railway, Sherwood Forest Railway, as they are always running and it’s perfect for our toddler with plenty to do and friendly staff.
