An Absolutely Awesome Whale Watching Experience!

点评：We recently took a whale watching cruise with Miss Belmar out of Belmar, NJ and we loved it! What a fun adventure for us and our teenager! The staff was courteous and friendly and there was also a naturalist aboard who told us facts about whales and sea life during our excursion via microphone that the whole ship could hear. There was outdoor upper deck seating as well as indoor seating, as well as seats along the side and lower front of the boat. Snacks and food/drinks were also available on the boat, and even restrooms. The boat took us about 11 miles out, and it was a beautiful ride. We had a sunny day but waters were choppy so we got a little wet standing on the lower deck (upper was fine). A few people lost their baseball hats due to the wind, so dress accordingly for the weather! Don't forget your sunscreen, too. Despite the choppy water during our trip (I have seen other videos where the ocean is smooth- it was just the weather we had that day) no one got seasick (the boat is fairly large so that helped!). We DID see whales and I was SO excited. We saw Fin Whales (which I didn't even know we had in NJ). I was close enough to actually HEAR one of them spout as well as see it. Truly thrilling to see! We had dinner afterwards along the Belmar Marina. It was such a great day and we would do another cruise in a heartbeat. My recommendations: wear sneakers, sunscreen, sunglasses - check the weather and water report before you go to help you dress accordingly. Ask questions! The naturalist was very knowledgeable. Be prepared to take tons of photos and videos.
