点评:I have been in contact with a member of staff. The way these horses are kept is disgusting. The smallest are up to their knees in mud all winter and the biggest are also struggling. Some must be in the later years of life and are still having to wade through this. Every horse welfare website says that every horse must have one acre each yet there has previously been 16 horses in a field we believe is no bigger than 4 acres.
It appears that this has been the case for many years and multiple members of staff have left along with owners taking their horses due to the conditions. I wont deny they have food and water but the hay is poor quality and they have minimal shelter provided by trees. The horses do not get a break from this as even the tie up yard is covered in mud. Many would not be aware of these conditions but sadly it’s the reality and unfortunately something needs to change.
These horses can work up to 3 hours a day and be tacked up for hours on end with no inside shelter in the yard.
This is not acceptable.
