点评:Went there for my grandson's birthday. I would like to give it more stars because most of the museum was adorable. BUT I couldn't believe the total safety hazard of a huge hole around the fire pole that was blocked only on three sides. Children could simply step or fall through the huge hole onto a hard tile floor and would most likely die. The hole is approximately 10 feet off of the ground on a platform that children MUST walk on and by the hole to get to the slide.
The fire pole is an enticement for children of all ages to want to attempt or at a minimum lean over the 10-FOOT DROP. It should be gated as it is a tragedy waiting to happen. I would say no one under the age of 10 could have the strength to safely descend on the pole. However, that is not the typical age group I would imagine going to the museum, mostly geared toward toddlers and young children. If you go, PLEASE HAVE AN ADULT BLOCK THE HOLE!
I have called the Fire Station Museum to state my concern...no callback. It is a simple and inexpensive fix to install a gate that you can lock and unlock depending on the age group. Covering would have to cover the top too as there are 3 short walls around it.
The irony is that the museum is all about "safety".
