Smooth, stress-free crossing with dogs – clean, organized, and friendly staff

点评：We took the Tirrenia ferry from Civitavecchia to Olbia in mid-January to visit Sardinia, and the entire experience was surprisingly smooth and positive.
We arrived at the scheduled time and were admitted immediately. The staff on arrival were friendly, organized, and very clear about where to go and what to do. From check-in to driving the car onto the ship, everything felt easy and well-managed.
Because we were traveling with two dogs and the crossing was about eight hours, we reserved one of the pet-friendly cabins. There is an extra charge, but it was absolutely worth it to keep the dogs comfortable, safe, and calm.
The cabin was extremely basic (as expected, this is a ferry, not a cruise ship), but it was spotlessly clean. The pet cabins have tile floors instead of carpet, which made perfect sense and felt much more practical. We were also placed very close to the door that allows access outside, which made taking the dogs out quick and convenient. We could walk the deck easily and didn’t have to go far at all.
The beds were better than expected, genuinely comfortable, with clean, fresh linens. The bathroom was very simple but perfectly fine, with soap and shampoo provided.
Overall, the staff were consistently friendly, the process was efficient, the price felt appropriate, and the experience was far less stressful than we anticipated — especially with animals.
We would absolutely use Tirrenia again for this route.
