点评:The theatre visit was interesting. It is under separate ownership from the palace and therefore has a separate entrance ticket. Apparently it is one of two wooden theatres still surviving in Europe (founded in 1766) and still hosts operas several times a year. The visit lasts 30 minutes but is restricted to the auditorium, a reception room and several adjacent rooms used as temporary guest rooms for actors. The auditorium is lit by electric faux candle bulbs that gives a most atmospheric feeling. Wallpaper in many of the smaller rooms is 17th century original and still in remarkably good condition. Sadly backstage was out of bounds but there is a good video demonstrating the complex mechanisms used for scene changes in the adjacent gift shop and there was a theatre group back stage while we were visiting demonstrating some of the theatre sound effects, so that was a bonus. The shop has a comprehensive range of gifts and is worth a look.
