点评:We may the short trip from our farmstay to this small village in the late afternoon and evening and we were so glad we did. We crossed the trench or mote carved out of pure sandstone at the outer wall, entered the tiny village, and stepped into another world. Time seemed to slow down as the glowing light of the setting sun angled across the cobbled streets and square. We passed only a handful of people at a time as we wandered the narrow lanes. We heard guitar music in the distance. We began to smell good cooking as the three or four restaurants prepared to open at 7:30 or 8:00. We climbed the bell tower to look out over the town to the surrounding farmland. We noticed some very well dressed young people entering a inner courtyard that we learned was reserved for a rehearsal party, thus the lovely spanish music. We stopped for a lovely dinner in the lane outside a wonderful restaurant. We finally left the village -- strolling slowly in no rush to leave -- just as the outer walls became lit up by lamps.
This was one of our favorite stops in Costa Brava. It is so quiet that evening and so beautifully authentic. It was so easy to imagine the way it was in this village centuries ago. Even the dinners were as traditional Catalonian as they get.
We highly recommend a visit during off hours. We had a magical and unforgettable visit to Peratallada.
