点评:Artworks in City Known for Glass
It is only natural that a city known for its glassware would have a glass art museum. The Toyama Glass Art Museum is in Toyama Kirari, a multipurpose building that includes a library and showcases a collection of glass art from around the world. The atrium is made of cedar wood shingles. There was a display on what happens when a seed can do to restore an ecosystem. Signs are posted to explain each portion of the display. Vertical wood slats on the ceiling, wood floor panels, and furniture complete the interior. The shimmering building’s exterior is made of glass, aluminum, and granite that reflect various angles of light. The museum showcases glass artworks from around the world. See delicate glass artworks in a city known for its glassware. Permanent exhibitions are on the fourth and sixth floors while temporary exhibitions are found on different floors. The “Glass Art Garden” on the sixth floor contains works by Dale Chihuly of Seattle’s Chihuly Gardens fame. The museum also has a café and a gift shop.
