点评:We were staying at the Waldorf and saw lots of boats for the canal tours. In fact the Waldorf had one that was expensive as you might expect. I am so glad we didn’t do it, walking around the streets and over the bridges were enough.
We were so surprised to see so much trash on every street we walked on. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. We saw restaurants with outdoor seating among so much litter, cigarette butts, food wrappers and more. It was very disappointing to witness such neglect. It seemed to be younger people who seemed oblivious to the filth sitting there without a care.
We felt letdown by the city. It just wasn’t as great as we thought it would be. We have no plans to return. I don’t say that very often. We usually want to return to cities we have visited, but not here. Prague and Dubrovnik which we went to after Amsterdam, yes, Amsterdam, No.
