Excellent presentation of shameful and neglected American History

点评：Our family knows about the internment from the inside, as our mothers, aunts, uncles and grandparents were interned. Several of the sites commemorate the internment; but this small museum in a very out-of-the way place does an excellent job of making life in the camps come alive. Although our family members were held elsewhere, we got a much better understanding of their experiences by visiting here as there are meaningful videos, photos, and a partial barracks moved into the museum and furnished with a family’s things, most of which they had to make by hand on the spot out of whatever they could scrounge. Our interned family members generally won’t talk about this time in their lives, so this was an invaluable resource for those American families personally affected by the internments, as well as for the vast majority of our fellow citizens who usually are completely unaware that such a thing happened to native born US citizens.
