点评：We are wrapping up two weeks in England. Much of it has been wonderful, but the best day, hands down, was the day we spent with Gary of Horizon. Gary picked us up at our hotel in Canterbury and drove us through the lovely Kent countryside, stopping from time to time to point out scenes of interest. He then took us to St. Margaret’s Bay where we had magnificent views of the White Cliffs of Dover. Gary’s knowledge of the area spans the spectrum from historical to geological, interspersed with personal knowledge gleaned from having grown up in the area. We next went atop the Cliffs where we had more incredible views, including the French coastline and Dover Harbor down below us. We drove through the quaint seaside town of Deal before stopping for lunch at a delightful country pub. After lunch we toured the fascinating Dover Castle. This is an incredibly interesting place. Again, Gary’s knowledge added so much to our exploration of this landmark. After a long and enjoyable day, Gary returned us to Canterbury.
