点评:This is by far the best suburban rail trail that I've ridden. It is completely paved, well-maintained, and road crossings are very well-signed and have crossing lights. The northern end of the trail actually starts in Lowell, not Chelmsford, with limited parking except on weekends. The section from Lowell to Chelmsford is, in my opinion, the worst part of the trail (difficult road crossings and some confusing markings) and I prefer to start in Chelmsford.
I most recently rode it on a very hot, humid day, but the trail is mostly shaded and was significantly cooler. It's lovely in the spring and fall too.
Trail users are usually very considerate and friendly, and there are a good number of places where one can find facilities (porta-potties) or benches to take a break. It is a well-signed route, and now extends from Lowell almost all the way to the Concord-Sudbury border. Future plans are to extend it to Framingham, which would make it 25 miles long!
There are places to get on and off the trail along its length, as well as to get food and beverages. There's a bike shop right alongside the trail in Concord.
I highly recommend the route. Check out its website at brucefreemanrailtrail.org . Excellent information and downloadable maps can be found there.

查看其网站 brucefreemanrailtrail.org 。
