My Old Kentucky Dinner Train的点评
点评：Our children gave us a gift certificate ,for Christmas, to go on the Dinner Train.We went with another couple that we knew.Apparently if it is only 2 people then you have to share a table with strangers or pay more.We arrived an hour before as recommended.Check in went quickly and then you had plenty of time to get a bar drink or wait.We got someone to take a pic of us in front of a dinner train sign.I wish there would have been a better photo place with a train in the background.The giftshop area was small and there were tables to sit at.Everything was very clean and we were boarded according to our car number.We walked outside the depot to board.The train car itself was very pretty.There were black tablecloths and glassware and lots of service ware.The wait staff was a fine oiled group that did their jobs down to the minute.My only complaint was a distraction of costumed characters that passed through our car going to another car.Im not sure why they were even on the train as they seemed to be headed somewhere else.We didn't see them again until the very last minutes and there was no interaction with the customers.The food was very good.Three of us had the prime rib and one ordered the pork chops.There was enough food on my plate to feed 3 people so we all ended up with take home boxes for the leftovers.The desserts we had were chocolate cake and the carrot cake.Again the servings were huge but they were delicious.They only served unsweetened tea ,water,or coffee that was included and they also offered an extra price drink menu.The ride itself went very smooth however it got really chilly enroute.The wait staff was constantly turning up the heat and turning it down.I would recommend taking a jacket for your legs.We did the 5pm excursion so we could see the sights along the way.It was a really nice way to spend date night and I would recommend it for all ages.
