My family and I, who have been loyal winery members for years, were excited to finally try the full menu now that the long-delayed kitchen is complete. If you’re a winery member, it’s clear you’re no longer the desired clientele. You can’t sit inside the restaurant or even in the main winery area without a reservation. The restaurant and the winery now operate as two separate entities — meaning members no longer receive the 15% discount on food, only on wine.
The new menu doesn’t cater to guests with allergies or to those who simply don’t enjoy the more game-heavy dishes. When my wife tried to order chicken fingers from the kids’ menu (because there was nothing she could eat on the main menu), she was told no. When she asked if she could have chicken, she was told to order the Cornish hen instead.
When we raised these concerns, Angie, the manager at Harvest & Tide, blamed ownership for the changes and bluntly told us they are “catering to a higher-end clientele.” I guess that was her way of saying we weren’t classy enough for the new vision of the establishment.
Myself and several other longtime members were left sitting outside on the cold porch, looking in at what used to be our favorite winery, now seemingly reserved for a new “upper tier” of guests. Many of us are seriously considering canceling our memberships after this experience.
