Beautiful but beware of the dead fish!

点评：Geumnung was one of my favorite beaches up until my most recent experience. The view of the water with the mountain in the backdrop is absolutely stunning! However, upon closer inspection, this experience was tainted by two things—trash and dead fish.
While there were people collecting trash by the parking lot of the beach, unfortunately there was some trash in the clear waters—lots of plastic floating or rope. When we walked further along the shore, we saw a couple of dead fish on the sand. We kept walking and saw even more dead fish and we smelled them! It was really all so disgusting. My partner almost stepped on one of the fish.
I visited Geumneung a couple of years ago in February and it was amazing! It started to snow but then the skies cleared up. It was just such a unique experience for me. I loved the view and that’s why I decided to go back this time. But the memories of the fish washed up on the shore, has left a bitter aftertaste and I don’t know if I want to visit again in the future. Also, it would be nicer if the clean up staff would remove the trash that is floating around.
If you happen to be in the area, stop by for a few photos but don’t look too closely or walk too much along the shore because you just must turn this visit into an unpleasant one.
