点评:Very clean beach with parking nearby. Lifeguarded from summer to Autumn.
In terms of surfing, In smaller swells (1-2ft) it's a good place to learn to surf, there's some waikiki lines form on the inner sandbar + surf school.
As the beach is very shelving (although not immediately obvious from the shore), in powerful groundswells over about 3ft it starts to form barrelling waves of consequence. Very steep, fast and hollow with most of the swell's energy concentrated onto just a couple of sandbars. It doesn't take much energy to get it going!
I've seen the breaking waves rise to at 2ft higher than the swell itself. Flash rips tend to form after bigger set waves roll through and can be extremely powerful.
A serious wave that would prove a challenge for even more experienced surfers. A definite step up in difficulty from breaks like Rossnowlagh and more 'spilling' beachbreaks round the coast.
Beginner surfers should avoid when the surf here is above approx 3-4ft, unless in a lesson. The rip currents can be some of the most powerful I've seen on any beach.
