点评:The Manhyia Palace Museum is located in Kamsi, Ghana. The grounds of the museum and Palace were beautiful. On the grounds were several peacocks, art on the walls, a Peace Bell and a very large Indian Rubber tree. As we entered the museum there was an area where you saw a video on the the history and culture of the Ashante Kingdom.
What stuck with me the most was that the royal succession, in Ghana, is matrilineal. Which means that the family line is traced through the mother.
The colors of the Ashante tribe are gold, black, and green. My aha moment came when I realized the the colors of Jamaica are the same, and Jamaicans can trace their lineage to Ghana from the transatlantic slave trade.
The museum has a gift shop. The only problem was that you cannot take pictures in the museum only outside on the grounds. Good day!
