Very slow service!
Fair Gardens Plant Centre的点评
点评：On arrival at 1.20 pm we didn't have to wait long for a table as there were plenty vacant ones. Our drinks order was taken rather quickly, as was our meal order, but it was nearly 35 minutes before we got the drinks. I asked could we have our drinks soon as I was thirsty and was told that the drinks would be served soon, as it was in a queue, the same as everyone else's drinks order. We waited at least 45 minutes for our meal to be served and the drinks arrive about 5 minutes before this. When ordering I asked was the scampi frozen or homemade. The waitress assured me that they were fresh and whole tail scampi. When we eventually got our meals, the presentation was nice and the fish was nearly the length of the slate it was served on. It was haddock but a lot of it was batter and not very much flakey white fish. The chips were crispy chunky ones which were very nice. The scampi wasn't fresh and the batter/breadcrumbs were stodgy. The 'whole tail' prawns must have been cut in three as there was just a small piece of prawn in each, just like the frozen type. These two meals were served on a slate. The other meal was a rice dish, served in a bowl, which was the best meal out of the three. It was in a barbecue sauce with carrots in a spicey hot dressing. I thought the meals and drinks were a long time coming (45 mins) and it wasn't as though the place was packed. If you ordered a baked potato or toasted sandwich it seemed to arrive at the tables quicker. The seating was comfortable. The prices were reasonable enough, except the cakes and tray bakes were a bit on the dear side for the size of them. They ranged from about £3.25 to £4.00. Looked lovely but too dear to sample. Would I go back, probably for a snack, but definitely not at dinner time, but at a time when there were few people eating. The staff were pleasant and very quick on clearing and cleaning the tables making them available for the next customer.
