Interesting, informative, gives a real feel for the area
Museo Nazionale del Bergamotto的点评
点评:I popped into the this museum as it was near where we were staying in Reggio Calabria (near the top of the tapia escalator) and had walked past it a couple of times.
The museum was fascinating! The volunteer who showed us around was so knowledgable, interesting and had amazing English (as well as French and of course Italian).
She gave us a bergamot slushy as we arrived - very welcome on the hot day and talked to us with passion about the area and what the council is trying to achieve with the once regarded ‘toxic’ bergamot fruit (myth started by the landowners who sold the essential oil at great profit to perfumeries around the world).
She mixed interesting anecdotes with social history and the space was filled with harvesting and pressing equipment and curiosities. It was honestly a real highlight of our visit to the region.
