Photogenic tribe tour i Odisha

点评：As two photographers, we experienced a phenomenal 8 days tour through Odisha. We visited many original tribes both livings as forest collectors/farmers in the highlands and more real farmers in the lowland. Each tribe had there speciality, like tattoos, women smoking cigars or having enormous earrings. In addition we visited plenty villages, markets and monasteries on our tour.
We had Jaga as our fantastic tour guide, who was always in a good mood and sharing his detailed knowledge about the tribes we meet. With 20 years of experience with the tribes, he knew them personally, which we benefited from when getting sincere pictures. He quickly got a really good feeling for our photographic interests and he constantly found good motives for us. This empathy combined with his good connection with the tribes, made it a good experience for both us and the tribes.
Bolo was our friendly, safe and tierless chauffeur, who would drove us everywhere any time, in our hunt for good morning or evening light. At the same time, Jaga always encouraged us to continue as photographers, even we were getting tired. Jaga and Bolo would never say no to any of our proposals, but they would always try to fulfill our expectations and improvise if needed.
There were many highlights on our tour, from colourful tribes to almost naked sadhus and staying at the mararadies palas.
All in all a fantastic tour at a very reasonable price.
