点评:Daughter and I stopped by this location while we were road tripping through central Illinois this summer. The creamery was [mostly] located between two of our major destinations, although the actual physical location was a way off the main roads. Final leg of the trek required some gravel road travel, but the place was fairly easy to locate.
There were three main structures that we were able to check out during our visit. First area was a small barn where the calves were being held. Daughter enjoyed being able to visit and pet them. Second area was a much larger structure where the adult cows were housed and fed. There was also a milking area, although we weren’t able to see the staff/machines in action at the time. Third area was the shop, where we were able to buy ice cream and cheeses.
Visiting the creamery is free of charge, and we were able to self-tour the different areas. Day of our visit was extremely hot outside (i.e., nearly 100 F). Barns and milking areas are shaded but mostly open to the outdoors, so they were pretty hot and humid. Store was air conditioned, and the ice cream was both cold and delicious. Really hit the spot!
