点评:I visited while the Romance of the Swag was on display. The creative designer of the works was Linda Jackson... she was on site at the time and we were told we could say hello...but it was strange that in this instance I didn't want to. It was the end of the day and I have no doubt that Linda had already had numerous conversations about her work and to be honest... I just wanted to appreciate it. Understanding her inspiration for it was not on my radar.
Melbourne born, widely travelled the artist also received the Order of Australia.
My takeaway was to just enjoy the swirling colours, the captivating designs, the flurry of intrigue that her works bestow on me and others. I did quietly chat to others in the museum who were swooning over the work... One of them returned to me and breathlessly said, " Do you want to meet her ? She's here... " It wasn't that I would not want to meet her... it's just it didn't feel like the right time. Close to closing time?
The staff on the desk were effervescent... they just exuded joy and life. I really enjoyed my visit to the gallery.
