点评:We are experienced bush walkers and of average fitness. We started at the water tank lookout at 09:30. The temperature was 17° and it was sunny, a condition ideal for walking. When we finished our 3.7km walk - the Point to Point Track - at 11:30, the temperature was already 27°, and it was a little humid. We couldn't imagine doing this walk in other than Winter.
The different tracks had markers. But, many had fallen off, and the distances between markers varied. Also, there was a colour scheme to differentiate between tracks. With the colours fading, there was some difficulty making them out. We unknowingly stayed away from the main track, and to get back to our took an effort and additional time. Referring to the map given by the Visitors Centre definitely saved the day. (Whilst most recommendation was to start the walk from the Visitors Centre end, it would be less easy to stray off the track, especially when looking out for the creek bed. However, it was easy from the other end - near the Leisureplex - to choose the 4WD track, as the track at the start did not sport markers at all!)
We spotted a skink and a nervous bird that looked like a pigeon. We were impressed by the variety of flora and the interpretive signs that explained them.
Definitely a very good activity. Bring trekking poles, at least 1.5 liter water, and wear trail shoes as the track is rocky.
