Not a good experience with one particular taxi driver taking us to Las Américas

点评：This is a review specifically for the official taxi rank outside Tenerife South airport. The cars are all white.
The taxi rank is easy to find, just turn right after exiting the baggage collection area and follow the signs.
The taxi rank was packed, and I thought we were in for a very long wait, but taxis rotated very quickly and so we were only kept waiting about 15 or so minutes.
The taxi ride to the hotel was done at frightening speed with a miserable driver who wasn’t happy when I wanted to pay by card.
He demanded cash and when I refused he bumped the taxi ride from 27 euros ( the metered reading ) up to 35 euros and became aggressive when I argued.
All of a sudden he couldn’t speak English very well and wouldn’t listen to reason - he just thrust the card reader in my direction and demanded payment.
Should I have asked to the police - maybe, it was clear profiteering but we were in the first day of our holiday and my wife just wanted to get into the hotel. That’s maybe what the less scrupulous of taxi drivers rely on
