Exceptional Wines and Delightful Service Right off the 101

点评：It had been a while since I had visited this winery. We arrived and were warmly greeted. We were a party of 4. Because of very inclement weather, it wasn't very crowded even though it was Saturday in May. We were offered our choice of where to taste and we took the room upstairs which was absolutely delightful. I would not expect this again but it was a wonderfully pleasant treat. Normally we would have tasted on the patio.
Our host made the trek up the stairs and brought us the most wonderful selection of wines. In addition to the printed menu, we were able to sample several additional varietals. I must say that every wine we tasted that day was exceptional. If my budget allowed it, I may have bought them all. Our host also shared her take on every one, spending time sharing with us and making our experience truly special.
Oh, and as a side note, because they are in Mendocino and not Sonoma or Napa, their price point is very reasonable. They had some specials of really tasty wines that were cheaper than most grocery store bulk products and even their more select wines were quite reasonable. We did leave with a case.
Oh, and one more thing, they have some of the best alambic Brandy in the country which you can also sample. Think very high end Cognac but because it is not from France, it can't be called that. They gave us a little taste of the $525 a bottle stuff and it was complex and delicious. Some day........
