点评:As a history lover I added the Susan B Anthony birthplace to my places to go after seeing it listed on a map of things to do in the Berkshires.
Anthony was born here in 1820 and lived here the first six years of her life before the family moved to New York. No original furniture or personal items of the Anthonys are in the house as her father went bankrupt and had to sell all of their possesions when Susan was a teenager. What is there are rotating exhibits about the suffragette movement and the women who led it and the things that they endured.
The docent, Marty, was very knowledgable and I learned so many things I'd never known. After a presentation of about 45 minutes I was able to wander through the first floor of the house to really look at the many displays that Marty had touched on.
There is also a very nice little gift shop beside the house.
[My visit coincided with the 2nd annual Liberty Train focusing on the suffrage tour of America at the Hoosac Valley Train in Adams.]
