点评：My friend and I stayed at the Radisson Collection Hormuz Grand in Muscat and wanted to explore the main sights. We spoke to Habiba at the Muscat Nature Tours desk in the hotel, and she was incredibly helpful—she even customised one of our tours to include the places we most wanted to see and advised us on what to bring for the more active excursions.
We did two tours, both with Saif, who was an excellent guide.
Our first tour took us to Nizwa to visit the fort, the souks, and then the Oman Across the Ages Museum. Saif gave us great insight into the history and culture as we explored the fort and markets, and we had plenty of time to wander and shop. At the museum, he guided us through the exhibits and really brought Oman’s history and impressive development to life.
Our second tour was to Wadi Shab and the Bima Sinkhole. Saif made sure we were well prepared for the hike—Wadi Shab is stunning but the trail can be rocky and slippery, so having a guide was invaluable. Saif pointed out tricky areas, kept us safe, and ensured we took breaks when needed. The wadi was beautiful, and a refreshing swim was the perfect reward. We also visited the Bima Sinkhole and even had time for a beach stop.
We left early at 8 a.m., which helped us avoid the midday heat. Good trainers and water shoes are essential. Saif was incredibly generous throughout, offering Omani bread, tea, snacks, and showing us the best photo spots.
