Padar Island的点评
点评：* Padar island actually contains two attractions - the famous ‘pink beach’ (which has its own seperate tripadvisor listing) and a hiking viewpoint. I believe this listing is focusing more on the viewpoint hike. Most tours of the Komodo islands incorporate both of these attractions as separate stops.
* If the photos of Padar island look familiar, thats because it’s one of the generic google screensaver photos. That particular photo, taken from the top of the viewpoint is a photo that around a thousand people aim to replicate each day.
* Being part of Komodo island national park - an entrance fee of 500000IR per person needs to be paid. There are no card facilities here so you will need to bring this in cash. I can’t remember how the 500000IR was made up but it included entrance to Komodo island and other attractions in the area. Your trip wont always incorporate this entrance fee into its cost.
* You are not allowed to bring a drone here.
* For the hiking component of Padar island you get three ‘windows’. 0530 - 0730, 0800-1000 and 1500-1800. The reason for this is to try to limit tourist numbers but also because a couple of tourists died trying to hike to the viewpoint in the middle of the day.
* The viewpoint hike isnt particularly difficult and will take maybe half an hour.
* Basically everyone here is there for ‘that photo’ and as such most of the viewpoints are covered in people. In this instagram hungry world some people will take up to 5 minutes taking multiple photos at the best viewpoints so getting ‘that shot’ without people in it can prove to be a bigger challenge than you think.
* Bring some water, sunscreen and a hat as it’s fairly exposed.
* The hiking trail is clearly marked out and fairly firm under foot.
* It only looks green in the wet season. In the dry season, it’s brown.
We enjoyed our time here, although found the crowds (approximately 400 at sunrise, from 50-60 boats), oppressive.
