点评：Padar Island was hands down the ultimate highlight for scenic views during our Komodo island hopping excursion. It is a striking, rugged island featuring a massive central ridge that you can hike up, offering a panorama from the top that is nothing short of incredible, it honestly feels like the famous Kelingking Beach view in Nusa Penida, but on absolute steroids.
Facilities on the island are minimal, consisting only of a handful of simple local food stalls and souvenir stands near the base. The climb can be quite exhausting, especially if you tackle it under the midday sun, so wearing a hat and loading up on sunscreen is non negotiable. The silver lining, they have several structured rest stops all the way up the trail, allowing you to catch your breath while taking in the scenery as the vantage point gets progressively better. Once you reach the summit platforms, the sweeping view of the three crescent shaped bays with contrasting sand colors is an unforgettable reward. The stairway quality varies quite a bit, some sections are solid concrete steps while others are older or slightly broken, so you need to watch your footing, especially with kids. Even so, it was entirely manageable for our children, and the whole visit takes about one to two hours total.
Pro Tip: Based on our experience, you actually do not need to hike all the way to the absolute highest peak to get the shot. The mid-level viewpoint platforms already offer the iconic, postcard perfect angle of the three bays, saving you some extra sweat if you are traveling with family!
