A wonderful, memorable learning experience
Karen Tribe Native Elephant的点评
点评:The tribal members treat the elephants very ethically. These are elephants born in captivity (except for the new baby born on the village), and retired to the sanctuary. They are not restrained in any way except by the mahouts voices to keep everyone safe. They don’t wear any saddles for carrying people and only small groups are allowed to be there at any one time. The hosts are wonderful and explain the history of their tribe and how they honor elephants, having lived with them for centuries. The elephants move to the jungle at night only sleeping a few hours at a time. We learned how to feed and care for the elephants by hands on experiences such as feeding and washing the elephants, how to tell a happy elephant, signs of good health and how to make their vitamins. If you want to stay overnight, they have two beautiful cabins available for a Homestay experience. The food they made for us was beautiful and delicious. The entire village participates in taking care of the elephants by growing food for them and through other means. The tribe members are among the kindest, caring, and most welcoming of any we met in Thailand. I would highly recommend them for an experience you will treasure forever.
