Amazing day with the elephants

点评：This experience was definitely life changing. Sun and his tribe are super welcoming. We were picked up at our hotel by Raj and on our way to where the remote tribe was located we were told about the Karen tribe. We then arrived and we were welcomed by Sun and the other elephant caretakers. We were taught the basic rules of how to take care and approach the elephants which are treated like a family member. We were taught their function in the past and nowadays and how important elephants are for this tribe. We fed them, cleaned them and interacted with them in the most ethical way. This tribe only works with very small groups to not disturb this gentle but quite easily scared animal. We were then given a lovely homemade meal by Nic - Sun's wife - and explored further how the Karen tribe lives and the role of the man and woman in this tribe.
I cannot underline enough how much I enjoyed this tour and you can see how happy they are to have you and share their culture with you.
