Unfortunately, the conditions and overall experience have progressively deteriorated due to ongoing issues that remain unaddressed. Unauthorised Use & Lack of Supervision Each year, the pitches have become increasingly overrun by youths who have not paid to use the facility. These individuals are often unwilling to move from areas booked by paying customers, leaving coaches and players to deal with the situation themselves. This creates an unnecessary confrontation and disrupts sessions. Despite this ongoing issue, I have not once seen a member of staff monitoring or managing the facility during the winter period. Litter & Maintenance Issues The pitches are frequently covered in litter, particularly around the edges and playing surfaces. This forces coaches to spend valuable training time clearing debris instead of focusing on player development. Additionally, while the new nets installed this year were a welcome improvement, they were poorly assembled and are now in disrepair, posing a potential safety risk. Lighting & Security Concerns While it is good to see that lighting at the rear of the centre has finally been upgraded after years of need, it is disappointing that so many other critical issues remain ignored. The lack of enforcement and oversight at the facility continues to impact paying teams negatively. Suggested Actions: Involve local community policing to deter unauthorised use and ensure the safety of paying customers. Improve on-site supervision by ensuring staff are present during peak hours. Organise regular litter removal to maintain a clean and safe playing environment. Inspect and repair the damaged nets to prevent injuries. Invite council representatives to visit and witness these issues firsthand. At present, many teams use Howebridge out of necessity rather than choice. If there were more adequate facilities available in the area, it is likely that teams would seek alternative options. We strongly urge you to take action to address these concerns, as the current situation is unsustainable for those who rely on the facility. I would appreciate a prompt response outlining any steps that will be taken to resolve these matters.
