World Famous Christmas Markets of Nuremburg
Nuremberg Christmas Market的点评
点评：Recently spent a few days in Nuremburg and enjoyed time at several of the smaller Christmas markets around the Old Town including the main gathering at Hauptmarkt in front of Frauenkirche. This is one of the most famous Christmas Markets in the World that is held during Advent (late Nov to 23 December) each year. The market is open from around 10am each day until around 9pm each evening.
We very much enjoyed wandering through the market taking in the various stalls selling local specialities and holiday foods and drinks. Had our fill of lebkuchen (ginger cookies), hiedlebier (blueberry wine), feuerzangenbowle (fire punch) and gluhwein (mulled wine) along with delicious nuremburg sausage servings.
Was also nice seeing the various stalls selling Christmas ornaments, crafts and other season products. The Kid's Xmas Market included environs for families with carousel and other children friendly rides. There is a ferris wheel at the Winter Village Market near Jakobsplatz. Lots of stalls spaced out on various streets around the Old Town, allowing visitors to spread out and enjoy themselves in numerous locations. Really great environs to complement general sightseeing around Nuremburg during this time of year.
