点评：Bucket list experience in Siena. This is such a cool, family-friendly event. Be sure to add several days onto your Siena trip for this race because if it rains, the race will be delayed a day or two. The Palio is so much fun but remember it is for locals (Sienese) and not tourists. This is a historical, community event that has occurred annually for centuries. If you remember that fact you will have a better understanding of the experience and the situation. People are literally crowded into the Campo, onto bleachers, or into balconies. It is part of the fun and the experience. There is excitement in the air, and the town is full of frivolity prior to the race. There is a 2 hour parade starting prior to the horse race that is rooted in tradition. The race is replete with tension, intrigue, and high drama. A+++ experience.
