点评：The Indianapolis 500 is one of those iconic events that you must see at least once in your lifetime. Like visiting Paris or London or Rome. Like attending the Rose Bowl. Or touring the White House. Hiking in the Grand Canyon. Getting a ticket to the Masters. I've been to Indy twice. In 1964, I sat on the first row of the bleachers in Turn 4, at the head of the front straightaway, and watched Jim Clark win an accident-free race. This year, instead of a coveted seat in E Penthouse in Turn 1 or in a suite at the start/finish line, I settled for an infield view with some friends. As inexpensive as you can get--$20 for parking, $55 for a ticket, bring your own food for a picnic--as long as you don't mind jostling for viewing space with 100,000 others who fill the 253-acre infield. Arrive early to find the best seats and leave late to avoid the rush. Make time, either before the race or afterward, to visit the Indy 500 museum. Bring your own 5-inch TV to keep up with the drama. The race will last from three to five hours so be prepared for all emergencies and pace yourself. Remember, this is the greatest spectacle in racing. Cars speeding around a 2 1/2-mile rectangular oval 200 times at 220 miles per hour. Enjoy the party.
