点评：Popped into the Academical Vaults today while in Glasgow for an away day, and it hit all the right notes. Proper old-school pub with that classic, no-frills charm – think warm atmosphere, friendly staff, and a steady buzz of chatter. The service was quick even though it was pretty busy with fans, and the prices were fair (a nice surprise compared to some city centre spots!).
The locals were welcoming – always a big plus when you’re in for the football – and there’s a good mix of regulars and visiting supporters.
Not a foodie spot, but the drinks selection is solid, especially the lager on tap – cold, crisp, and exactly what you want pre-match. If you’re planning a visit, get there a bit early on match days; it fills up fast.
All in all, it’s the kind of pub you’d happily recommend to mates: good drinks, good atmosphere, and an easygoing vibe that makes you feel welcome, even if you’re not a local. Definitely on my list for next time we’re up in Glasgow!
