A real gem for visitors to Coventry
National Trust - Coventry Charterhouse的点评
点评：A beautiful place,well worth visiting. The quality of the wall paintings (Tudor and medieval) is astonishing and the restoration work has been done really well. It was a wet,cold day so we stayed indoors and had a fabulous coffee ,scone and enormous teacake in the gorgeous cafe after our visit.. So lovely! We will explore the grounds more next time. There's more outdoor space than we expected and there are plans to develop this(Charterhouse is new to the National Trust)
My only criticism is that I felt hounded by the enthusiastic volunteers. I wanted to explore in peace but they were so eager to accompany us upstairs and into the rooms. I wasn't in the mood and this detracted from the experience. Given its history as a place for silent reflection I thought it rather ironic that my head was buzzing with the chatter from staff. But it's nice to see their enthusiasm!
