A must have retreat!
Skana, the Spa at Turning Stone的点评
点评：From the minute you are greeted with a smiling valet and complimentary parking you feel cared for! This spa has earned national acclaim and we can see why. The soft music, lighting, amenities, and most of all the staff make this experience truly memorable and you find yourself surrendering to complete calm and zero stress.
There will be no photos posted here as Skana has a no cell phone policy so ours were off and locked in the complimentary lockers provided. I for one was so glad this is reinforced for without it, you'd be in just another salon. A individual concierge greets you for your tour of the lockers, steam room & sauna, hot tub, mineral bath, lounges complete with fireplaces, flavored water, nuts, fruits, tea, robes and slippers all complimentary. Luxury showers and bathrooms complete with upscale lotions, mouthwash, tooth brushes, razors, and everything you can think of. Men have their own area as do women in this subterranean oasis.
We enjoyed everything an hour before our relaxing massages with Desiree and Andrea who checked in consistently to make sure we enjoyed every aspect. The choice of oils was a nice touch as well as the soothing hot towels wrapped on our feet, neck and face. 50 minutes does go by quickly though!
Next we ordered a delicious spa lunch in their cafe area. Light delicious and healthy. It was a bargain at $20. One main entree (I had lobster salad, he had smoked salmon), 3 sides (we chose olives, hummus, arugula salad,) and dessert (panacotta so light and fluffy, and Angel food cake). Choice of beverage too.
Then on to relaxing in the garden room which had comfortable loungers, beautiful greenery and flowers, and well lit if you wanted to read. We just zoned out letting our bodies rest.
We topped off the day with a manicure & pedicure with Gina and Jennifer who provided a luxurious foot soak, scrub and polish. They were so kind as my husband asked questions about each step. They were true professionals and we enjoyed the conversation and of course the hand massage and paraffin wax hand dip! I was excited to go back downstairs to relax in the sauna, so much so I left all of my rings in the nail salon area (priceless including two that were my Grandmother's). Gina tracked me down to make sure they got back to me. Then I smudged one of my nails and Gina graciously redid it for me even when she had another customer in her station. Now that is true service and hospitality. They were both gems!
Alas the day ended 5 hours later and time to return to this thing we call life. We will return again, no question about that. Some may feel it is a pricey day, but to us the disconnect and treatment was priceless. Well done!
