Skippers need to be more careful
Teddy's Glass Bottom Boat的点评
点评：We had a beautiful day with Teddy’s Glass Bottom Boat. The skippers were warm, kind, and made everyone feel welcome on the island — their free-spirited nature brought a lot of joy to the experience, and we truly appreciated that.
That said, I want to share some honest feedback about what happened during the snorkeling part of the trip — especially from the perspective of a parent snorkeling with a child. My 7-year-old daughter and I, both beginners, were using one of the buoys provided. While watching the reef underwater, we didn’t realize the buoy had drifted. Suddenly, she got swished between me and the anchored boat and hit the side. If the sea had been even slightly rougher, she could have easily slipped under the boat — a terrifying thought.
I managed to push the buoy away with my legs, but it was a very frightening moment. There were no skippers in the water or visibly monitoring us from above. Later, all three buoys became tangled — they had been released from the same side of the boat — and that entangled clutter swept off my snorkeling mask. I couldn’t breathe and panicked, shouting for help. It was another passenger, not a crew member, who pulled me back to the boat.
I understand that the ocean can be unpredictable, and I’m not writing this to place blame. But someone should have been monitoring the buoys at all times to ensure they didn’t drift dangerously close to the boat or trap guests. For beginner snorkelers, especially children, a buoy alone isn’t enough — we need supervision, reassurance, and someone actively watching out for us.
I’m sharing this because I truly valued the day and the skippers’ warmth, and I hope this feedback helps improve safety for other families and first-time snorkelers. Thank you again for your kindness — this comes from a place of care and concern.
