点评：We spent a wonderful afternoon with Valeria exploring some fascinating and less visited sites of Northern Lake Como by private Venetian boat. As we had already visited Bellano and the Orrido yesterday, the tour was customised for us to include Menaggio, the Museum of the End of World War II in Dongo and Piona Abbey.
Menaggio was beautiful, and given our interest in history Valeria provided us with lots of information.
The Museum in Dongo was a highlight - it is a small audio-visual museum, housed in a villa where Mussolini spent his last night imprisoned prior to his execution. There is much information about the end of the war, the resistance and the partisans.
The Cistercian Abbey at Piona is beautiful and peaceful. A working abbey with twelve monks, dedicated to the Virgin Mary. We enjoyed a lovely walk around the abbey and grounds, and purchased some of their liqueurs.
If you’re looking for something truly special in Lake Como, off the well-beaten ‘tourist trail’ and recommend the tour highly
